COVID-19 Pandemic

Small-house senior living is better suited to handle the disruptions of the Covid-19 era. Unlike large traditional senior living options, small-house settings have not had to disrupt their residents’ lives quite as much when implementing enhanced infection control measures. And, there is even some anecdotal evidence to suggest that these homes are better equipped to prevent the spread of the disease! We wholehearted agree!

Our small home and universal worker concept means we have fewer workers coming and going. This practice affords our caregivers the ability to develop closer relationships with residents, giving them an advantage in detecting a behavior that is unusual. We believe this is key for symptom monitoring during the pandemic and ongoing for quality care measures.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have taken proactive steps in keeping our residents and staff safe. Since we understand the COVID-19 information is everchanging, we continue to monitor and carefully follow guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),and the Tennessee Department of Health.

We are excited to be closely working with Tennessee Department of Health to ensure that a vaccine is allocated and distributed to timely and efficiently. Our residents are considered a vulnerable population have priority in the distribution process in the State of Tennessee.

We are thankful for our dedicated and trained caregivers. Together, we will combat COVID-19.

Some of the efforts to minimize the transmission of COVID-19 in our communities include:

  • Daily symptom screening for residents, staff and trusted partners who enter the building
  • Frequent testing of employees and approved essential (medical) visitors based on the positivity rates in the county
  • Enhanced frequency of cleaning and sanitizing efforts
  • Enhance infection control measures
  • Modified visitation protocols
  • Utilizing virtual options for engagement when appropriate
  • Adjusting admission standards to adhere to CDC ad other safety protocols
